WEEK 27 on the GlitterGeeks.blogspot-Let It Snow

Week 27 DT work was entitled Let It Snow and Sponsored by the lovely Nikky Hall from PolkaDoodles.

I decided to make something different-me different...never! LOL I used to have a Gorjuss Girl kit many moons ago and it was a theatre type card. I only wish I had kept one to use as a template!!!! So, I began with my ruler and knife and made my own
as you can see this template took alot of battering before I eventually got it right.

Rather than use card to make the characters stand. I used acetate and cut slits into the sides. I used Polkadoodles Christmas Boutique papers and stamps. My trusty Flexmarkers to colour and added detail with a white Sakura pen.

So, here is the card : Hope you like it :)

Alot of work, but I liked it when I had finished and decided to make one for my BFF in Finland Anna Riitta...this time I added Miss Scarlett :)

the workings: inside view

Ok, best get on, stilllllll have more Christmas cards to make as the low tack tape...wasn't that at all and ripped all the work I had done. My wrists are sore and will be happy when this batch are finished believe me.They are not perfect but will have to do as definately not making any more!
On the plus side all presents but one, are bought. I love wrapping so can't wait to get started doing that.

Thanks for reading and hope you have a hassle free week....presents, cards, tree up, shopping etc impossible I know but please try.
Love and Christmas Spirit to you all.....

ps. I'm putting my guilty pleasure on - Michael (sexchy) Bublè, Christmas songs and wishing for snow :)

Glitter Geeks DT Week 26 - Decoupage - Sponsored by Joanna Sheen

Hi Guys!
This is another Design Team card which I actually made  a couple of weeks ago. Had an idea in mind and as usual...thoughts of designs and actually making them is another matter!...It is definately an original.
I wanted a centre panel card but placed backwards like a frame card with steps at the front...I know, I know!! (why don't I just make it plain?..coz I am Crazy Daisy lol) so, I made numerous templates..this being one of them. I eventually got there. Please don't ask for the dimensions...it's a one off I'm afraid.

My Mum's friend bought Joanna Sheen Decoupage last year and then realised how much time it would take to cut out. I love cutting out. I went on a decoupage course aged about 20 so being doing it for a year or (20!)
She gave me a few of her sheets to keep so I used one in this card as the Sponsor was Joanna Sheen.

Here is the card....

My Christmas Theme this year is red and white alpine wrapping. I had already bought the twine and ribbon. I thought that was all it needed reallly as the main focal point is meant to be the House Mouse mice.

The backing papers I used were from The Forever Friend range and the sentiment came with the decoupage. Added  some glossy accents on the berries and their eyes to give them some dimension. That's it!

Hope you like these cheeky mice as much as I do.
Thanks for reading and best go and make some Christmas cards as I am sooooo behind this year.

Take Care and give that special someone/something an extra Hug...relieve the Christmas stress that will be setting in soon.
Much Love,

DT Project week 25! RUDY REINDEER from Cutting Cafe

Hi Guys!
This week I have gone totally out of my comfort zone! I saw how basic the image was and thought.Hmmm what can I do to that??? I literally dreamt the idea!! (I know I'm weird lol)
So what did I do??? I made some earrings!! I bought some shrink plastic and traced the image thro. Coloured and punched a hole ...heated it it then made the earring finding and Voila!
...don't let me kid you. It took 5 attempts! I cut the image out but the antlers stuck to each other..used my fast heat gun and they burned-the smell was gross! Covered with glossy accents and the colours ran....couldn't find my round nose pliers, so, had to make the findings with a paintbrush and snub nose pliers-nightmare!

Anyway here is the finished article...hope you like it!

I used;
white shrink plastic
Cutting Cafe Rudy Reindeer Digi Stamp
Promarkers
Letraset 0.7 fine liner
chameleon 'white' glitter
jewellery wire
heat gun-slower one is best!!!
few aurora borealis beads
pliers/paintbrush ;oP
scissors
gems

Thanks for reading and hope you all have a Fantastic Weekend.
Much Love!

Week 24 Glitter Geeks- Kenny K images=Christmas Shopping.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for reading my blog. This weeks Glitter Geeks Design Team is using Kenny K images and called Christmas Shopping. The images are the card. They don't need much of anythingelse to make a card that pops.
I coloured a few of these images and thought this L'il Lady was the one I was going to use. I think she would be on many a straight man's shopping list!!
The details:
Image is a Kenny K digi Stamp
Coloured with Promarkers and the flesh was a mixture of Pro and Flex Markers from Letraset.
The backing sheet red is Bazill Card
The glitter paper I made with card a Zig glue pen and glitter :)
The snowflake paper is Anna Griffin.
Ribbons are from stash.
Pins...actually from My OH's stash! He cuts them up to make bits and bobs for his miniature soldiers!- yes this house is one big craft room~always untidy!!
The snowflakes a Spellbinder die cut on my Cuttlebug.

I have put up 3 pics as I thought I would show all angles or should that be curves!!
Thanks for looking!
Till next Time...Take Care

Glitter Geeks Design Team Week by Bugaboo

Ok this week we were given a few images to choose from and the theme Hilarious. This was the funniest I thought so here is my card:

As you can see I made this into an easel card. I coloured the image with Promarkers, used Anna Griffin papers - the holly and lime green ones. Also the 3d sentiment is AG. The glitter sparkle paper (at the back) is from DCWV.
The flames I used glitter and gems. The metal holly corners I bought years ago from QVC. You are supposed to use brads but I preferred gems to make the berries. Granny's ruffles are sparkled with Ranger Stickles. Her glasses are just grey Promarker the covered with silver glitter. I tried it without colouring first but found it wasn't as dense colour as I wanted.
Ok the 'Pimp my Sled' the message that came with the character I made by trawling the inet for some Grafitti I liked and copied it. Coloured with a fine nib on my Promarker so it matched in.
That's it! All done for another week.
Thanks for looking and don't be afraid to comment I love to read what you think good or bad.
Take Care,

Illness ... getting me down.

Hi Guys
Sorry I haven't been online but I have been suffering with what was the worst bout of food poisoning EVER!! I'm not sure if it my ME deciding to reject certain foods or just a bug doing the rounds. It knocked me for 6 and has taken me over two weeks to recover.
So...I haven't been able to craft :(  I decided to show you the card I made for my Mum's Birthday in September.
For this I used the Linda Ravenscroft cd...I love fairies and for once didn't make them pink. It is a Mother and Daughter so thought it was very apt for the occasion.
It is actually a  white decoupage image which I wasn't keen on, so I colourised it and gave it a more ethereal look by changing it to pale green colour on pc.
I over coloured with Mica, punched tiny butterflies and doubled them up so they had 3d wings. Martha Stewart punch for the border and a Tim Holtz Ticket. Used my favourite Glossy Accents to enhance the bubbles and heres how it looked...

Of Course Miss Scarlett couldn't let her favourite Granny's Birthday go past without sending a card...so, with my help and Hunkydory- The Dog's Biscuits Kit ..she made her first card.

Ending with the fact Mum was thrilled and took both cards to show her Art Class.

I've had 2 weeks off my DT work but will be back here next week with my work and general musings...
Till Then ~ Thanks for reading and please comment :)

With Love,

DT Card and FABBY NEWS!!

Hi Guys!
I have decided to start with my Good News as I am really happy. Ladies and Gentlemen..If you would care to look to your left you will see a new badge I have aquired!! I was 3rd in Sarah Hurley's Challenge with my Spookay Card. There was 59 Entrants so I am over the moon. :)

Ok now I have calmed down from being a giddy goose (My Mum used to call me that when I was little) here is this weeks DT card!!

The theme was a RECIPE of the follwing...You can only choose one of each.
1-Turquoise and Pink, Turquoise and Purple or Turquoise and Grey.
2-Flowers, Feathers or Ribbon.
3-Sentiment or Charm.
4-Gems, Beads or Glitter.

I know what you are thinking...I will choose the pink and glitter with ribbon and swirls. Ahh no dear reader you'd be wrong! Only in certain instances tho as here is what I chose:
Turquoise and Pink (obvious?), Flowers, a Sentiment and Gems.
Any of that a surprise? I actually coloured in many digi stamps then came across this one and knew I had to use it. It is from Tricia Moore-Little Scraps of Heaven plus it was FREE!! With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month I thought I would highlight this in my card. Having an Uncle die last year of Cancer it is very important to me.
So here is my card:
Where I used my recipe is plain to see. The items I used are...
The digi stamp from Tricia Moore. Coloured wity my Promarkers but mostly my Aqua Markers this time.
Papers are from a Kanban Cd.
Big turquoise flower is from a Polkadoodles Cd. (I know I use these alot but they are good cds) called All About and Everywhere.
The pink flowers I used a punch. Cut into it and shaped the paper to represent flowers.
The gems and the pearl are from my stash. (I class the pearl as a gem)
The Sentiment I made myself.
That's it! Thanks For looking and see you next week :)
Much Love daisylou xxx
Ps. Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate it so keep them coming!!

GG DT: Theme is....Two's Company-need 2 of something on card.

I'm having a fight with Blogger at the moment. I posted this on the glittergeeks blog 3x and never went through. I posted this on here and has vanished too!! So as not to disappoint here it is again :)

The theme, as in the title is Two's Company and is outlined as, 2 of something...2 of anything on your work. The Sponsor is Willow Designs.

I decided to use the Sprinkles of Kraft CD. Nikky Hall's (polkadoodles.)CD which has a few of Sharon's Willowdesign images on.

My 2's are: 2 Trees, 2 Birds, 2 Birdhouses, 2 flowers in Birds beak....I even used 2 backing papers from the same CD!! The images I used the black and white Digi stamps and I coloured using my fav Flex and ProMarkers from Letraset

The ribbon is from Cosmo Cricket. Crystals from Swarovski....think thats everything!

I have had a horrid week with my Father in hospital with an infection following his surgery and I have woken up this morning full of cold. Will see how I go on as might have to rest all week = No crafting :(
Having ME means I'm susceptible to germs...drives me insane.
Am having a cup of Hot Ribena as I type so hopefully that will fix me.

Till Next time...

Spooookay!! Halloween Card

Hi Guys!
Todays card I am entering into http://sarahhurleychallenges.blogspot.com Hope she and you like it as the winner gets some Derwent Pencils!! :)

For this card I used Sarah Hurley's own Vampire Girl Free Digi (so cute) .
The coffin I constructed myself with just black Bazill card. The orange inside was same card in orange, put through Cuttlebug using an embossing folder, then aged using a Memento ink pad.

The backing paper, glitter papers, ribbon and stamps are from my never ending stash.

The rosette is made from Tim Holtz Idea-ology grunge range and I covered it with crystals.

The "Boo" I hand cut from glitter paper and made the eye and spider from same glitter paper as backing paper.

I made the Vampire Girl have blood dripping from her mouth to add to the Vampire effect with a glue pen and Debbi Moore glitters.

Thanks for looking!
Bye for now I'm off to watch the glitter and glitz of Strictly Come Dancing...Love it!!

Glitter Geek Design Team

Hi Guys,

Sorry I have been AWOL for so long. I have been quite ill with an ear infection which left me completely deaf for nearly 3 weeks. I was allergic to the given meds and had to go to hospital to the ENT consultant..basically it was a nightmare!
On top of me being ill, Miss Scarlett has had a tummy bug so she has been to the vets for injections and medications too.

Anyway that's the bad news out of the way...I have some brilliant news! The Glitter Geeks have invited me to become a member of their Design Team!! :) I will be adding my work when I can. ... Steph has been wonderful with understanding all my health issues and contributing issues. They are a lovely bunch of girlies and feel honoured to be a part of it all.
http://glittergeeks.blogspot.com/

I haven't been able to craft so I have been watching Barbara Gray's new DvD. Taken many tips and hoping to make Clarity cards for my Christmas cards this year...Not as easy as it looks I can tell you!

Dipping my toe into something new....

Hi Guys!
I'm hoping this works as using my iPhone rather than pc.... You might think that is the new thing I'm trying.... well it is new, but that's not 'it'.

Had a horrid week as had food poisoning. Which made my ME/CFS take over. I was REALLY ill and felt awful depending on my OH so much. I know he doesn't mind but I couldn't be left alone for 5 mins. So, the Bank Holiday Weekend was ruined. Plus he had to take a days holiday to watch over me... I slept it and he puppy sat. I slept over 20 hours a day..for 4 days!

Back to the plot...
My testing the water is....I am entering a blog comp\challenge!! My first one ever! and I've chosen- PolkaDoodles!! :) the theme is SPOTS and DOTS. I knew exactly what I was going to do with that title, so jotted down a sketch and got to work!
I've been reading these comps for ages and been dying to 'have a go' but either, never had time ...or was too ill to do anything about it.
Luckily I started this before I got sick and just needed a 'lil bit of sticking and photographed. Hope you like it. Please wish me luck too :)

Stickles makes good icing! better than 'just' glitter :)

Bakers twine works a treat in faux buttons as thread.

Card Competition

Hello again,
Unfortunately I caught a sickness bug so was unable to craft this week. I did however find out that I had won a £5.00 voucher from www.Beautifulpapercrafts.co.uk for entering their Card competition. I decided to show you my entry.
The Theme was Shopping.

I didn't take a close up, it's hard to see but I added glitter and gems to all items. Took a while to make but enjoyed making it.

I also was commissioned to make 50th Anniversary cards..a few weeks back.
I used Debbie Moore's Cd for this...

for the other one I used Nikky Hall's Love and Cherish Cd.

I used Anna Griffin paper for the flowers, using the Tim Holtz dies through the Cutlebug.

Thanks for looking and please comment.
Much Love
